Kick-start Activities

Space for Sustainable Financial Services

Invitation to Tender      Opening date: 31 August 2021 Closing date: 29 October 2021

Financial services are undergoing a digital transformation that is changing the competitive landscape in the financial services, forcing traditional institutions to rethink the way they do business. Key trends driving the innovations include increasing the digital banking services, applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to internal and external data  to predict events and support customers, making use of blockchain technology to streamline the lending process, enhancing customer experiences, mitigating the risks and increasing the investments towards sustainable Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) options to support the European Green Deal in channelling private investment to the transition to a climate-neutral economy.

Water Scarcity

Invitation to Tender      Opening date: 07 October 2021 Closing date: 17 November 2021

Water is one of the most important substances on Earth and covers 70% of the planet. However, freshwater makes up a very small fraction with 97% being saline and ocean-based. While the amount of freshwater on the planet has remained fairly constant over time, the world’s population has exploded, meaning that freshwater is threatened by significant forces, like overdevelopment, polluted runoff, and global warming.

Social and Environmentally-Friendly Mobility

Intended Tender      Opening date: 21 October 2021 Closing date: 03 January 2022

Transport currently accounts for a quarter of Europe’s greenhouse gas emissions and this figure continues to rise as demand grows. Moving to more sustainable transport means putting users first and providing them with more affordable, accessible, healthier and cleaner alternatives. Environmental concerns and the need for more socially and financially efficient modes of transportation are guiding the new generation of transportation users.

Radio Frequency Analytics Applications

Call for Proposals (ARTES SATCOM-APPS)      Opening date: 01 July 2021 Closing date: 15 November 2021

The hustle and bustle of modern society is often intertwined – whether intentionally or unintentionally – with radio-frequency (RF) emissions. Individuals, vehicles, and equipment leave behind electromagnetic signatures that, upon capture and analysis, can reveal hidden patterns, unknown behaviours and illicit activities. RF analytics deals with the extraction of information from these emissions.
