Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) is part of ESA’s ACCESS programme. Its objective is to enable companies – especially those from non-space domains – to create new businesses and enhance existing ones by integrating space assets and capabilities. This includes earth observation, satellite navigation, telecommunications, and human space flight technologies, combined with other terrestrial technologies, and existing technical and market expertise.
The role of the Ambassador is to:
- raise awareness and inform stakeholders of the potential of space to drive innovation in the application domains
- raise awareness of the ESA BASS programme opportunities
- to support the access of the intended beneficiaries to BASS opportunities, as well as other ESA programmes, as relevant for their country's national strategy
