AquaFarm

Status date: 16 November 2018

Aquafarm brings together satellite data and Soil-Plant-Air models to provide operational services to Farmers’ service providers as well as national institutions related with crop development and forecast.

Soft-Alpha

Status date: 16 November 2018

Soft commodities, such as soy and sugar, and their related financial derivatives, are widely traded on exchanges worldwide. At present, production data is only made available at fixed points through the year (usually after the growing season). The Soft-Alpha project provides predictive analysis on soft commodity crop performance, in a sector that is currently dependent on historical data. The project uses EO derived data products and analytics, to monitor performance on a dynamic basis, offering unique insights that not only provide competitive advantage to commodity traders, but also improve food security and increase transparency in regard to sustainability issues in the various supply chains.

SAMIPS

Status date: 15 November 2018

The main objective of the project is to investigate user needs, technological feasibility and economic sustainability of the implementation of the EO-based solution allowing for detection and monitoring of habitats affected by invasive plant species.

IceCast

Status date: 06 November 2018

IceCast demo project aims to develop and demonstrate a service based on IoT based capabilities combined with space assets, to help navigation planning in ice covered water areas. The solution fetches data from different data sources, stores the data, analyses it and provides output via graphical UI. There are three pilot customers who are piloting the solution in Baltic Sea and are giving input for solution development during the creation phase.

UKSRI

Status date: 06 November 2018

More detailed long-term weather predictions empower growers to make better-informed decisions in their fields. More reliable outlooks of summer water demand improve planning for irrigation, better select crop varieties and mixes for drought / floods or climate-linked pathogens that thrive in humid conditions. UKSRI delivers seasonal climate forecasts to UK growers to improve their crop performance.

CERASAT

Status date: 06 November 2018

CERASAT aims to provide reliable, real-time and global rainfall measurement services. It extracts the rainfall information from the signalling data generated in satellite communication (SatCom) networks by employing advanced machine learning and signal processing techniques. CERASAT can complement existing rainfall measurement solutions e.g. rain gauges and weather radars.

TSMF_10CM

Status date: 06 November 2018

The TSMF_10CM investigates the technical feasibility and commercial viability of information services regarding a) regular generation of forest stress maps and b) detection of bark beetle infestation in support of small and medium size forestry operations in Germany.
