B-SURE

Status date: 05 December 2019

B-SURE reduces disaster management response time.The main B-SURE service is rapid collection and bandwidth-efficient secure communication of operationally relevant field information. The baseline field platform is a smartphone, while information managers access data and interact with the field users via Web browsers online on secure servers. The field users cover professionals, civ/mil population and small UAV operators. 

Village Data Analytics

Village Data Analytics (VIDA) is a software-enabled service that automatically identifies remote villages and determines their suitability for a micro-grid installation using earth observation data and machine learning algorithms.VIDA can be scaled across large user-defined areas to find a portfolio of viable micro-grid sites. This data-driven knowledge de-risks projects, reduces time and planning costs and enables investment at scale.

TT-GSAT

Status date: 29 November 2019

The aim of TT-GSAT is to offer a test and trial environment for emergency personnel and industry where it is possible to touch, try out and play with real building blocks in order to creatively find and implement new solutions. These building blocks can be individually combined with each other in order to try out and test the interaction of different equipment in different deployment scenarios.

SAQM

The project aims to test the feasibility of providing accurate and high resolution global air quality modelling services using vehicles extracted from very high-resolution earth observation imagery.  Providing detailed air quality modelling for a large number of cities will improve decision making, enable efficient and cost effective urban growth and reduce the air pollution impact on human health.

SpaceChain

Status date: 27 November 2019

The multisignature wallet makes digital currency transactions more secure by requiring two approvals for each transaction, one from the user and one from the satellite. The security of transactions are guaranteed via satellite hardware isolation, a multiple approval model, and secure satellite communication making the transaction resistant to hacking.

MULDIARCOS

Status date: 27 November 2019

The MULDIARCOS project has implemented and demonstrated a cohesive end-to-end delivery chain of satellite imagery and met-ocean data. The implemented service has been demonstrated during maritime operations in the Arctic. Arctic maritime operations often have a need of fast and regular earth observation and weather information. In the project, focus has been on streamlined and effective ordering, delivery procedures due to limited and expensive communication channels to the vessels during the operations.

Cerberus

BlackShore’s crowdsourcing platform Cerberus reinforces developing country economies utilizing satellite imagery amplifying sustainable food production while preserving the environment. This is achieved through the power of satellites, socially conscious gaming and the power of the crowd.

Earth Rover

Status date: 19 November 2019

Earth Rover is developing integrated crop scouting and laser weeding. We are targeting the high value vegetable market, and are currently testing commercial prototypes of tractor-mounted crop scouting with UK’s largest organic brassica farmer.

IoT4Verticality

Status date: 18 November 2019

IoT4verticality is a decision support solution to improve the current inspection procedures and enable condition-based maintenance of critical infrastructures; it monitors the verticality of structures, which is particularly important in tall structures such as flanged poles and guyed poles/towers.

TreeTops

Status date: 15 November 2019

Treetops use high-resolution images from Satellites, UAVs and Airplanes, to facilitate the use of remote sensing in the forest industry. This online tool analyse forest Canopy Cover and Single Tree Detection. Compared to traditional measurement methods, this new solution enables more reliable analysis for forest monitoring and estimation of the forest assets.
