MARITIME SUSTAINABILITY TASK FORCE
ESA launched the Maritime Sustainability Task Force in 2024 in order to identify and agree on short- and long-term priority areas for the maritime sector and to leverage space-based solutions on a wide scale to maximise their impact.
With a strong focus on implementation, Task Force members have been drawn from across the maritime sector, bringing distinct expertise and know-how to the group. They have a joint mission to develop and deliver innovative projects which support the decarbonisation of the maritime sector, protect marine ecosystems and help strengthen the maritime economy across Europe and beyond.
TOPICS
The Task Force is working to define the main topics of focus for upcoming activity and funding opportunities. The Maritime Decarbonisation call covers the following main topics:
- Digitilisation and Logistics Optimisation
- Maritime Autonomy
- Ports Decarbonisation
- Green Propulsion
The Blue Capital call is focusing on the following key areas:
- Coastal and Marine Ecosystem Monitoring
- Sustainable Aquaculture and Fisheries
- Blue Finance
