MARITIME SUSTAINABILITY TASK FORCE

ESA launched the Maritime Sustainability Task Force in 2024 in order to identify and agree on short- and long-term priority areas for the maritime sector and to leverage space-based solutions on a wide scale to maximise their impact.

With a strong focus on implementation,  Task Force members have been drawn from across the maritime sector, bringing distinct expertise and know-how to the group. They have a joint mission to develop and deliver innovative projects which support the decarbonisation of the maritime sector, protect marine ecosystems and help strengthen the maritime economy across Europe and beyond.
