eHSA, Study on Sustainability, Liability & Business Aspects
Status date: 29 January 2015
Sub-Saharan Africa, characterized by its extensive rural populations with little or no access to conventional healthcare, renders eHealth a potentially effective solution for the provision of healthcare. The goal of the eHealth for Sub-Saharan Africa (eHSA) programme is the development of pan-African eHealth services, enabled by satellite telecommunications, to expand healthcare access for rural African populations.
DDM
Status date: 03 June 2015
The Dam and Dike Monitor (DDM) is an innovative tool that aims at providing better information (in near real time) for dam and dike maintenance and flood management. An on-line interface is provided to the users showing the actual risks of dam and dike failures, based on dam and dike monitoring techniques and flood forecasting. As the Dam and Dike Monitor is internet based, there is no need to develop ad-hoc software and hardware infrastructure.
Earth Rider
Status date: 12 June 2014
The Earth Rider concept, conceived and developed by Space Synapse Systems Ltd, attempts to educate, enlighten, and engage end users with environmental and space awareness issues by:
- Sharing the personal experiences of space travel by astronauts;
- Producing high-quality planetarium shows;
- Creating an effective immersive experience that allows end users to “experience “the awe of spaceflight; and
- Disseminating downstream Earth Observation satellite applications.
eHSA Regulatory
Status date: 20 February 2013
Partnering with Africa to help strengthen health service delivery is a key driver of this project.
