Smart GAM aims at offering an innovative and semi-automatic decision-making supporting system for asset management and predictive maintenance purposes to improve the financial resilience of assets, taking advantages of innovative data-fusion algorithms, satellite Earth Observation technologies and their integration with ground-based monitoring/database segment. SGAM focuses on the risks related to structures and infrastructures, analysing their interaction with the local geological and environmental context, by automatically evaluating the direct or potential future interferences with geohazards such as landslides, floods, sinkholes, fires etc. The service aims to support Decision Makers in defining and prioritizing the maintenance operations based on the asset vulnerability and loss scenarios, with a philosophy that may be summarized as “FROM HAZARDS TO MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS”.

MEDICO AMICO

MEDICOAMICO is a new App allowing medical staff, wherever they are, to monitor their patients at home, to make teleconsultations and to deliver telerehabilitation sessions.

The patient simply needs to download MEDICAL AMICO on his/her smartphone, tablet or PC.

Rehabilitation sessions can be carried out both in real time interactively with the Therapist, or independently by the Patient, but always monitored at any time by the Therapist.

REACT2

LudoTrek

TREVAR

TREVAR is a platform designed for the realisation of tactical training in team games. The solution is based on GNSS satellite positioning technology and Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) aspects. The recipients of the system are coaches and players. The main functionality of the system is based on ability to visualise selected tactics and conventional training.

AstroLEO

Awareness of the Earth's vulnerability and the digitization of education are important issues for current and future generations of students. AstroLEO serves these areas in an Augmented Reality (AR) based mobile learning application by presenting curriculum-compliant content against the backdrop of Earth observation. 

Space studies

Our project develops four workshops with high interactivity between participants and instructor and among participants, in order to provide the participants an experience as similar as possible to the on-site workshop. The workshops offer training in handling of astronomical databases within the virtual observatory scheme; of Earth observations for disaster management and environmental studies; and Life science and “OMICS” technics.

Telecense

Telecense allows Companies, Authorities, International Organizations and Labs to assess and anticipate population growth and migration in emerging countries.

Diginove has developed earth observation algorithms and demographic models in order to build Telecense, a service that provides geo-localized population estimation where censuses are unavailable or outdated.

Unmanned maritime data acquisition and intelligence for decommissioning

Status date: 24 March 2022

The project consortium led by Sulmara are developing an unmanned subsea data acquisition and delivery system for decommissioning of offshore energy assets. The service is based on use of an uncrewed surface vehicle (USV), combined with a remote operated towed vehicle (ROTV) to acquire subsea survey data required by offshore energy operators. The main services offered are pipeline, area, and asset integrity surveys, including environmental surveys.

EBX4EDU

EMLM

EMLM investigated the technical feasibility and commercial viability of Earth observation satellites to detect, monitor and model the movement of large accumulations of floating marine plastic litter as it travels from the source, along rivers and estuaries, and into the Oceans.

PlastEcoTrack

Status date: 21 March 2022

This project assesses the technical and commercial feasibility of space-related services to support the reduction of marine litter. A multi-technology approach is studied to detect and track marine litter in the coastal area. An integrated economic channel from the collect to the revalorization is evaluated, including the tracking solution and involving local fishing communities to boost efficiency.

SarSentry demonstration project in Para

Status date: 17 March 2022

The SarSentry project in Para will demonstrate the complementary value of the SarSentry deforestation and forest degradation system to the existing forest monitoring system of the Secretariat for Environment and Sustainability of the State Pará in Brazil (SEMAS). Demonstrations will be given for 3 pilot themes/trials: Nature conservation, Forest plantations and selective logging, and Agricultural areas.

The project is conducted by SarVision and Wageningen University and Research.

MEO-Certif

BMT and 4EI investigated the feasibility of developing a unique service to support the decommissioning of energy assets using commercially available space-based data.  The study focussed on how Earth Observation (EO) data might be used to improve the existing Environmental Impact Assessment processes.

MELODY JUNIOR

MELODY is a robotic telemedicine tool, which allows a medical expert to remotely perform an ultrasound exam on a distant patient. It offers access to diagnostic capabilities for remote populations requiring ultrasonography. While it has proven to be effective on adults already, MELODY is however not approved yet for paediatric use. This activity aims therefore to develop and validate a solution allowing children to also benefit from remote ultrasound scan. This is of high interest during the COVID-19 crisis, as it will avoid travel to the rare paediatric centres while protecting medical experts from a direct exposure to the virus.

SpaceSense SOC

This Kick-Start Activity creates several satellite-based models that could be used to track Recommended Farming Practices (RFP) for carbon sequestration at a sub-field level (10m, based on Sentinel 1 & 2 data), and provide these information to companies creating Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) stock models. They will be focused on the three following detectors:
Cover Crop Flag: Is the field using cover crops between main crops?
Crop Rotation Diversity Indicator: How do the crops rotate in the field?
Tilling Flag: Is the field being tilled or not between crops?

DragonFly

Today, speed and effectiveness have become essential characteristics of the logistics sector and the transportation of goods more and more requires a continuous monitoring of various parameters (e.g. position, temperature, shocks) during the different steps of the goods journey (i.e. collection, transport, storage, delivery). Indeed, the loss and/or the deterioration of shipped goods have enormous financial impacts for companies, in particular for items with a very high value (e.g. pharmaceuticals products, rare items). DragonFly is a comprehensive solution able to provide an effective continuous real-time monitoring solution which has been designed to monitor globally the end-to-end journey of the most critical goods (such as pharmaceutical products) in a cost-effective way.

SISMA2
