ASAP-FS

Status date: 16 April 2015

The ASAP service aims to deliver in a ‘one-stop-shop’ approach reliable information to actors in the Polish agricultural market to optimize the production, reduce input costs, and increase income. The service aims to deliver information on condition and status of vegetation, soil moisture and surface temperature, data for fertilization and amount of fertilizers, condition of vegetation before and after winter (frozen vegetation). 

SELIAT

Status date: 13 April 2015

SELIAT stands for the feasibility study Safe Emergency Landing in Alpine Terrain. It has investigated a service in aviation that shall provide geographic information about suitable landing sites to support off-field landings in alpine areas with difficult terrain. This information will be available to pilots in their cockpit. The information may be required either as part of an operation of a search and rescue mission or in case of a technical failure in the aircraft.

ISIDE 4 Africa

I4A focuses on the provision of educational content and Internet access to African primary and professional high schools and to health and cultural centres. In a nutshell, I4A aims at providing a one-stop-solution for the collection, organization, delivery and use of digital educational contents based on the ISIDE platform/service.

The project, which is part of ESA's Newcomers initiative of the ARTES 3-4 Programme, is aimed at developing, integrating and validating a set of mobile applications onboard of vehicles such as cars, coaches and trucks, using the S-Band delivery platform of Solaris on the Eutelsat W2A satellite.

SFEDONA

The SFEDONA project aims to design, develop, validate and demonstrate a complete end-to-end fire detection and alerting application which makes use of state-of-the-art fire detection technologies based on terrestrial optical cameras and sensors, data fusion, satellite and wireless communications as well as modern IT technologies.

SASS@Sea

The objective of the project is the development and validation of a system for the provisioning of an integrated maritime communications service.

SatFinAfrica

Status date: 25 March 2015

This is a pilot project to demonstrate the suitability of the Sat3Play platform, originally designed for the consumer and SoHo market, to provide reliable and secured financial services in remote and underserved areas in emerging countries in Africa. 

CyMonS FS

Status date: 02 February 2015

The consortium, led by surface water quality specialist BlueLeg Monitor (BLM) from Sneek, the Netherlands, has executed a contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) under the Integrated Application Promotion (IAP) program to develop services for the monitoring of blue green algae or cyanobacteria under the project acronym CyMonS: cyanobacteria monitoring services.  

eHSA, Study on Sustainability, Liability & Business Aspects

Sub-Saharan Africa, characterized by its extensive rural populations with little or no access to conventional healthcare, renders eHealth a potentially effective solution for the provision of healthcare. The goal of the eHealth for Sub-Saharan Africa (eHSA) programme is the development of pan-African eHealth services, enabled by satellite telecommunications, to expand healthcare access for rural African populations.

SafeRail

Status date: 14 January 2015

The objective of SafeRail is to improve the safety at Rail Level Crossings (RLC). In terms of accident prevention, RLC are demanding spots since two disparate transportation systems are intersecting (road, rail respectively) and neither of them completely controls the situation. In response to this, SafeRail provides a flexible and secure solution at a moderate price, using latest advancements in satellite technology.
